Being Kind, supporting others and working hard in whatever we do, is at the heart of life in Year 6.

As well as lots of Year 6 pupils, you will also find in the classroom: Mrs Macnab the Year 6 teacher and Deputy Head, and Mrs Procter and Mrs Jardine the Year 6 Teaching Assistants. We are lucky to have other teachers who also work in Year 6 teaching French, PE, PSHE and Music.  The Year 6 team work hard to support children in their work, make lessons interesting and exciting, as well as making the classroom and school a fantastic place to be.

Year 6 have many responsibilities around school. A key role is setting a good example to others. All the children get an opportunity to be house captains. In this role they collect house points throughout the school and  plan house treats  Some pupils are members of the school council, and fair trade group and Peer Heroes. Year 6 pupils help with the smooth running of lunchtimes, helping to serve food and running the ordering system.  We also support and work alongside our reception buddies with lots of exciting craft and social activities. We love being  buddies with members of reception, and often join them for buddy lunch and our weekly shared breaktime.

As well as our lessons we enjoy lots of exciting activities and events throughout the year including musical and drama shows, our class residential to Bewerley Park, running our own lunchtime clubs and taking part in many sporting events and competitions. If an exciting opportunity comes our way- we always say YES!- We can do that!

We hope you have enjoyed finding out more about Year 6. Please come and visit us soon and see what life in Year 6 is all about.
