At Water Street children are given the opportunity to explore their own Design & Technology ideas within the bounds of cross-curricular work; children’s work is celebrated and encouraged with positive criticism and inclusive practice and children are given the opportunity to reassess and redesign their work when they discover how and why a challenge is not met

We use the D&T Association ‘Projects on a Page’ to guide our lesson planning and ensure that the children have creative breadth and challenge as they move up the school.  Design challenges include building houses and drawbridges in KS1 to making soup and bread and designing and making bridges in KS2.  Whole school challenges such as Pneumatic Monsters have been a huge success and the children have enjoyed seeing and experiencing each other’s handiwork!
